8:00 pm Women's Beit Midrash offers a class with Esther Eisenman on Megillat Esther. Esther Eisenman is assistant principal at the Beth Tefiloh Dahan Community High School in Baltimore. She frequently teaches adult education classes in Baltimore, particularly at Mercaz: The Beth Tfiloh Dahan Center for Jewish Life and Learning. She practiced law for 10 years prior to becoming a Jewish educator. Meets 2/2, 2/9, 2/16

Adena Berkowitz has co-edited, with Rivka Haut, a mini-prayer book called: Shaarei Simcha: Gates of Joy: Traditional Prayers, Songs, and Modern Inclusive Rituals. (Published by Ktav.) Dr. Adena Berkowitz holds graduate degrees in Law and Ethics. A popular teacher of Torah, Adena has lectured across the U.S. on Jewish Ethics, Rabbinics, Women and Judaism and Jewish Values. 5:15 pm Mincha followed by Seudah Shelishit with a talk from Rivka Haut: “Recent Events at the Wall.” Rivka Haut is co-editor of Women of the Wall: Claiming Sacred Ground at Judaism's Holy Site. Rivka Haut is a long-time agunah activist, a mother and grandmother, and the co-author of two books: Daughters of the King: Women and the Synagogue and Women of the Wall: Claiming Sacred Ground at Judaism’s Holy Site. 6:36 pm Shabbat ends with a musical Havdalah. Following Shabbat, Adena Berkowitz and Rivka Haut will autograph copies of Shaarei Simcha.

Bradley Fields will be discussing Karen Armstrong's The Great Transformation. This is a fascinating book tracing the parallel evolutions of Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Hellenism. It is well written and well worth the read. Waiting in the wings is Esther Kreitman's The Dance of the Demons to be discussed by David Epstein.
