Communal Candle Lighting & Gourmet Soufganiyot Frying and Filling with Pastries by Randolph
Sunday, December 2, 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM

Join us for the first night of Chanukah with a communal candle lighting followed by a sweet experience with our friends from the newly DC Kosher certified bakery Pastries by Randolph.  We will by frying soufganiyot and filling them up with gourmet goodness! Open to all. Attention Teens: grab an apron and learn from Penina, a soufganiyot master. No RSVP required.

Neighborhood Chanukah Candle Lighting

PM at Rabbi Herzfeld's House

Featuring candle lighting, donuts, cider and songs! All are welcome. If you have a neighbor who wants to learn some Chanukah songs and have a donut, please reach out and invite them. This is the time of year where it is especially nice to connect with our neighbors and teach everyone about our holidays. Let's remember that even though many of us in Shepherd Park worship differently, we are all in this together! No RSVP required.

Chanukah Tisch & Siyyum 
Wednesday, December 5, 6:45 PM

Candle lighting will precede Ma'ariv (7 PM) followed by a Siyyum and Chanukah Tisch with a festive meal in honor of Rabbi Herzfeld completing Sefer Bereishit. A text study formation meeting will take place in the Goodman and Katie Kay Library at 8:15 PM.

Youth and Family Chanukah Party Through the 5 Senses

Celebrate Chanukah with your OSTNS family! Experience Chanukah through the 5 different senses: hear, see, taste, smell, touch, and then we will culminate the evening with a communal lighting of the lego chanukiyah. Event is for PK & Up. Pizza dinner will be served. RSVP requested for food quantities.

Join us for a Shabbat gathering for families with young children (pre-K and under), with a kid-friendly dinner and Chanukah and Shabbat-themed, age-appropriate, educational fun with our clergy and staff. 

Shabbat Chanukah and Rosh Chodesh Women's Learning Program
Saturday, December 8, 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Located at the Home of Chava Kahn

Shabbat, Chanukah and Rosh Chodesh all converge with the perfect opportunity for a Women's program. Meditation will be led by Devorah Walder. Rabbinic Intern Tali Schaum Broder will teach.
