A Huge Thank You!
Dessert at the communal lunch is sponsored by the Ritual & Religious Affairs Committee in gratitude to two of our incredible gabbaim, Mike Backman and Nate Lesser. Both Mike and Nate have been essential for making minyan a success for the past six months, and we will miss them terribly. We wish Mike the best of luck in his move to the Big Apple, and a nesiya tovah to Nate, Chani, and their family as they move to Israel for the year. We will miss all of you!

Spotlight on...
We are so happy to announce the arrival next week of Rabbi Phil Lieberman and Dr. Yedida Eisenstat of Nashville, Tennessee, who will serve as Ohev Sholom’s temporary clergy for Shabbatot and chagim during Maharat Ruth Friedman’s maternity leave period. We look forward to welcoming Dr. Eisenstat for the first time next Shabbat, and to getting to know them and their family well this Fall.
Dr. Eisenstat also invites the Ohev teenager community to join her for pizza and learning after Mincha/Maariv this Thursday, August 24th! She looks forward to meeting all of our dynamic and engaging teens. Details to follow in the coming days.
Community Resources
The Capital Closet (formerly The Clothing Exchange) will be open to this community this Sunday, August 21st from 10am-11am. Come peruse our beautiful, curated selection of clothing for men, women and children, as well as Torah School uniforms!
Our address is 1910 University Blvd, West in Silver Spring. We're in the brick house at the back of the parking lot.
There is no charge for items in The Capital Closet, but donations to Yad Yehuda are always appreciated. We are unable to accept clothing donations with the exception of Torah School uniforms in pristine condition at this time.
