Kiddush this Shabbat is sponsored by the congregation in honor of all of the volunteers who help keep our shul going. At the conclusion of services on Saturday morning, several volunteer leaders will speak about opportunities to get involved and support ongoing needs of the congregation.
Kiddush dessert is sponsored by Berman Hebrew Academy in honor of the Berman families at Ohev and Board President Benny Berkowitz visiting us this Shabbat. Welcome! Seudah Shlishit is sponsored by the congregation in honor of Jordan Reimer's talk on "How Did We Get Here? A History and Background of the Israeli Judiciary Crisis" In our ongoing series on the judiciary crisis in Israel, please join us during Seudah Shlishit to hear from Jordan Reimer about the backstory regarding the modern Israeli Supreme Court and how we reached this point -- from the advent of the Barak's "constitutional revolution" in the 1990s to proposed remedies in the 2000s, featuring many of the same figures involved in the crisis today. Jordan wrote his undergraduate dissertation on Israeli constitutionalism (under the tutelage of our very own Amb. Daniel Kurtzer!) and will be sharing insights from his research that still very much resonate today. An Israeli themed seudah shlishit will be served.
Our Yom Haatzmaut Party celebration Wednesday night was tons of fun! Thank you especially to Smadar Epstein and Revital Schwartz for organizing. Photos of the event below!
